Curt Marthezé was born in Windhoek Namibia in 1981, he grew up there and later Cape Town South Africa.
He worked for several years as a counslellor and therapist before pursuing his art career full time and in 2017 moved to a small town in the great karoo.
Here the alternative lifestyle, natural environment and climate is a personal preference and continued source of inspiration.
His belief, when painting on location, is that simply inhabitting a given space is often the greatest reward and the goal is to capture this in his frame.
A room in the front of his house he has turned into a little gallery and studio called 'Kraairivier Huis' from which he runs his buisness and teaches art classes.
Curt is a freelance illustrator of children’s literature with experince in storyboarding, visual development and book cover design. His paintings have exhibited at fine art galleries around the country.
