Curt Marthezé was born in Windhoek Namibia in 1981 and grew up there and later in Cape Town South Africa.
He worked in various fields, ending with several years experience as a counslellor and therapist before deciding to pursue his art career full time. In 2017 he moved to a small town in the great karoo.
Here the alternative lifestyle, natural environment and climate is a personal preference and continued source of inspiration.
His belief, when painting on location, is that simply inhabitting a given space is often the greatest reward and the goal is to capture this in his frame. A room in the front of his home, called 'Kraairivier Huis', he has turned into a little gallery which is open to guests by arrangement.
Curts paintings have exhibited at fine art galleries around the country. He is an entrepeneur, an illustrator and a designer with experience in children’s literature, book covers, storyboarding, and visual development.
